New America's National Security Advisory Council works directly with Peter Bergen, director of the National Security Studies Program, and Steve Coll, president of New America, to help advance the creativity and impact of the Foundation's national security policy work. The council supports the program and contributes to the research design through private roundtables and public conferences. The council also helps identify priorities, ideas and innovations responsive to the big questions facing American decision-makers.
